While living in Camden NJ, I had the opportunity to re-design the New Monasticism website. In case you aren’t familiar, authors including Shane Claiborne and Jonathan Wilson Hartgrove have helped breathe new life into the Monastic history and call their movement, New Monasticism. Jonathan contacted me about the website and described how he wanted a page that would serve as a visual way of dividing their different pages up. I quickly began sketching ideas and working to create a website rich with textures and different tangible features. This is by far one of my favorite works.

The last photos in the gallery show what the original site looked like before I worked on it.

Esme Album Art

Some time ago I helped complete the album artwork for the Esme record titled “Don’t Wake Up”. Together with Jesse Walker and Sean Cooley we concepted the artwork and I pretty much made the art happen using the help of Tom Schmuck, Zack Tarrant and Casey. We had a blast at the beach shooting these photos with a bed. I also shot my friend Debra for the girl who happens to be floating. This was a blast to work on and I look forward to working on more album layouts with the rest of the guys. Celebration.

I want to personally thank Tom for taking time out of his day to let us set up the photo in his lovely apartment and thank everyone who helped make this layout a reality! Bear in mind this all began with a doodle on a to-go container which I emailed their guitarist from my phone, and into after a fairly long phone conversation, talked the band into the art!

The sketched image was drawn at Angel’s BBQ in Savannah GA.

STD Awareness Poster

This project was completed for my Graphic Design Production class. The assignment was to create a poster that folded and raised awareness about a particular subject. The subject was STD’s and my teacher refused to hold the project after completion. If you take the time to read the statistics, you may find yourself questioning the future…

This is a Myspace designed and coded for the band Gabriel. The logo, design, photos and all code was my work. Unfortunately coding for myspace isn’t like coding html and myspace changes their codes quite frequently. If you go to the link you will no longer see the work I did. All that remains are these screen shots.

Tap T-Shirts

These shirts were designed for a college group from Daystar in Greensboro NC. The mint and black shirts were printed and the others were alternate designs to be voted on.

Simpson’s Lard Lad Package

The Lard Lad package was completed for Mcfarlane Toys in Tempe Arizona during my 2007 summer internship with them. This might be the work I am most proud of. When I left for college, my dreams weren’t about catered gallery shows, I wanted to have my artwork displayed in stores around the globe. By completing this package I got to fulfill that dream. My friends called me from FAO Schwarz to tell me they saw it on display in New York City!

Spinal Tap DVD Package

This was a “This is Spinal Tap” fictional DVD special edition package created for my Packaging class. The actual coffin was hand built using wood, covered with snake skin fabric and the interior was shaped using foam, padded with plush material and covered using crushed velvet material. The DVD itself was also designed, and a scaled replica of stonehenge was made.

This was the original website that I coded and developed for my online portfolio in May of 2008. My goal was to use tangible textures juxtaposed with the intangible digital media. I love feeling different textures and I want to incorporate that love into my digital work. All doodles and drawings were created by me. The folder tabs were also scanned from my personal folders.
